The current District Attorney has created a revolving door for repeat and violent offenders in our criminal justice system. I will put an end to that and prioritize the prosecution of repeat and violent offenders.

I will divert most misdemeanors and create vertical prosecution teams to target serious and violent felonies, including gun crimes, domestic violence, child abuse, and sexual assault.

The revolving door in our criminal justice system has exacerbated the crisis of untreated mental illness and drug abuse in our neighborhoods and contributed to rising homelessness. I will fight hard for more long-term residential treatment options in our community.

I will build interdisciplinary prosecution teams with mental health and substance abuse experts and use evidence-based practices to sustainably and holistically address root causes of crime.

The current District Attorney has a long history and practice of ignoring victims and violating their rights. I will put an end to that and make sure that all victims are seen and heard and that their rights are protected.

I will uphold victims' constitutional rights pursuant to Marsy's Law and seek speedy pleas, hearings, trials, sentencings, and restitution. Justice delayed is justice denied, and repeated continuances and reassignments of cases will no longer be tolerated.

The current District Attorney has developed too many conflicts of interest over the last 16 years and targets only political enemies. Everybody is equal before the law, and I will enforce that.

I will follow the evidence wherever it takes me and zealously prosecute all law-breaking public officials just like everybody else, including politicians, judges, attorneys, and police officers. Fraudulent and illicit uses of taxpayer money will be investigated and prosecuted to the fullest.

The color of your skin and your zip code or tax bracket should not determine the justice you receive, whether you are a defendant or a victim. I will fight hard to mitigate racial and economic disparities in charges and sentences.

I will significantly expand community outreach, youth programs, and data collection. Law-breaking businesses and their leaders will be aggressively prosecuted, and I will reform the overuse of bail, probation, pretextual searches and seizures, and peremptory challenges in jury selection.
